What to Expect From Individual Counseling

Stepping into individual counseling is a courageous act. You're taking the first step towards making significant changes in your life. Initially, we start with a free 15 minute phone consult to determine if we are a good fit for you or your loved one, and if we are, we can then schedule our first session. (If we are not the perfect fit for you, we will gladly give you a referral to a therapist or a program that will be able to meet your needs). Next is an intake session, where you meet your counselor, discuss your concerns, and outline your therapy goals.

Every session is a unique journey tailored to your needs. You can expect active listening, empathy, and respectful challenge from your counselor. Depending on your comfort and readiness, your counselor might employ various therapeutic techniques, including Cognite-Behavioral Counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psycho-educational Therapy, or Attachment and Trauma-Informed Care. Rest assured, your pace and comfort will always be our priority.
