“The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection.”
-inspired by Johann Hari
Welcome to Recovery Works. I'm Alex Derevyanchuk, a CADC ll-certified counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience dedicated to guiding individuals, teens, and families through the challenges of addiction, trauma, anxiety, and stress. As someone who embarked on my own recovery journey from addiction and trauma 15 years ago, I know firsthand the courage it takes to seek healing. This personal experience fuels my passion for creating a safe, judgement-free space where you feel truly heard and supported. My mission is to walk along side of you, offering empathy and expertise to help you reclaim hope, resilience, and a brighter future.
Alex Derevyanchuk, CADC II
My professional background spans residential treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, agencies, and private practice, specializing in adolescent, young adult, and adult substance use, trauma, stress management, identity issues, and spouse/parent coaching. Trained in evidence-based modalities like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, EFT Tapping, and Brainspotting—a leading trauma recovery approach—I tailor my methods to your unique needs. With a vast database of psychoeducation gathered from hundreds of hours of training, I provide tools to foster self-awareness, coping skills, and sustainable recovery.
